Everyone should know what a wiki is by now, but here’s a brief definition for anyone who doesn’t: a wiki is a website that visitors can edit. The word ‘wiki’ is actually a Hawaiian term and means ‘quickly’. A user can browse to a website and make a change quickly, get it?

When you do a default installation of the software you’ll see this yellow flower in the top left corner of the site. It’s also in the little “powered by MediaWiki” icon at the footer that links to their site, where you can download the software:
Wikis are ideal for sites that require group editing, and that’s also how WikiStudent got its name. Imagine doing that nowadays! Hurray for MediaWiki
